# School card

You use the school card to travel between your home and your school

School cards are free, but the municipality decides which requirements must be met for a pupil to receive one.

At the school office, you can find out whether you are eligible for a school card. The school is responsible for ordering your card and renewing it from one school year to the next.

If you are starting 10th grade, you can often get a school card.

Some private schools also offer school cards, but you must check with your own school to see whether this is possible for you.

School cards are issued as Rejsekort.

                                    How to get a school card

                                    Renewal of period

If you are also eligible for a school card for the next school year, you will not receive a new physical card.

Instead, the renewal for the next school year will be added to your card electronically.

You activate your new period for the coming school year by checking in at a check‑in reader after your school has ordered the new period for you.

This must be done within 30 days from the date your school ordered the new period.

                                    Replacement card

The school secretary can block the lost school card and order a new one for you.

                                    When you are moving or changing schools

If you are changing schools, you will need a new school card, and the old one must be blocked. You must return your school card to your old school and order a new school card through your new school.

If you get a new address, you must also contact your school secretary. The school secretary can assess whether your move requires new zones on your school card and can order a new school card for you if needed.

You must contact your school if you have questions about your card.

This also applies if you have lost your card, have not received it, or are moving.

## Offers from the municipality

If you live in Haderslev, Sønderborg, Aabenraa, or Tønder Municipality, the municipality offers a free school card that can be used for travel within the entire municipality.

You will receive the card through your school.
